Call for Presentations

The Motor, Drive & Automation Systems conference committee is currently accepting presentation abstracts. Being held March 1-2 in San Antonio, Texas, the 2011 event will explore the important topics impacting the motor, drive, automation and power electronics industries from new design issues to improving system efficiency.

Speakers will include OEMs and End Users with first hand experience on how new technologies and systems or adapting/upgrading systems, are impacting productivity, reliability, efficiency and revenue.

The initial Call for Presentations has passed. All abstracts will now be reviewed and accepted on a first-come basis.

What's New for 2011
This year's conference will feature expanded coverage of:
• Semiconductors and power management
• Electric motors in automotive applications
• Renewable energy applications for electric motors such as wind turbines, solar equipment positioning, stream and tidal power and more
• Nanopower, ultra precise and miniature motors
• Advancements in energy efficiency for motor and drive systems in industrial operations
• New materials and technologies for motor and drive manufacturing

Would you like to share your company’s views and insights into the industry but don’t have time to put together a presentation? Become a panelist on one of these discussions:

Submitting a Proposal: The total length of each proposal should be a maximum of 1,000 words.

It should include:

- A title
- A summary of the presentation content
- Brief description of the presentation for the conference program (100 words)
- Computer and equipment requirements

Presenter's Profile:
- Presenter(s) biography for the conference program
- Contact information: name, title, company, address, office phone & fax, email address and web site.


Describe the Format of your Session:
- Panel Discussions (3-4 participants)
- Case Studies
- Individual Presentations

Describe your Target Audience:
Does your presentation appeal mainly to:
- End Users
- OEMs
- Motors and Drive Manufacturers

Your Technology Needs: Do you need an Internet connection? Will you use computer-generated slides or present from a presentation program? If yes, you must bring your own laptop. Indicate any other technology that you plan to bring. Include any other technology requirements.

Optional: Each presenter may submit a 1500-2000 word paper or copies of their presentation for publication on www.e-DrivOnline.com and in the Conference Proceedings. Papers will also be considered for publication in e-Drive magazine.

OEM Application Contest

Motor, Drive and Automation Systems 2011 is hosting a contest open to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) who have applied and integrated a motor, drive or motion control system in a new product area or have made a significant improvement in an existing product area. The contest is open to all industries; medical, military, automotive, industrial, renewable energy, etc.

The winner will receive a speaking slot at Motor, Drive and Automation Systems 2011, free conference registration and travel/hotel expenses paid*.

Contest Rules and Submission Process

• The motor, drive or motion control systems must be integrated within the last 24 months.

• All entries should highlight how the application has accomplished something not previously possible or provided significant improvement to the product.

• All entries should include:
A Title
A summary (500 word maximum) of the application.
Contact information: name, title, company, phone & email address

• All entries should be submitted via email to Shannong@infowebcom.com

*Up to $1,000 paid in travel/hotel expenses.
